Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Bollywood-Movies-About-College-Life-Kucch-Kucch-Hota-Hai

Wouldn’t you agree that this is an epic start to an epic list? Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is the first college life movie of Bollywood that came to mind when I was thinking about creating this list. The film has unquestionably earned its reputation as a classic hit film. Probably the first to depict a fruitful college student life. You know, the popular girl, stud boy, college romance, and subsequent story. It has beautifully captured everything that defined Generation X at the time.

Faltu

This film epitomizes the phrase “old is gold.” It all comes down to how we regard failures as underdogs and even challenge India’s education system. It is the story of four students, three of whom receive lower grades while the remaining student receives full marks. They all embarked on a journey to make their parents happy, thereby finding their happiness. This makes us realize that degrees do not define intelligence.

3 Idiots

This is one of the films that has both entertained and made us cry. 3 Idiots is undoubtedly one of the best college life movies of bollywood. Who could forget it? After all, it was as good at the end as it was at the beginning. The film is about three friends studying in an Indian engineering college and working their tails off to get their degrees. It depicts their struggles and happy moments in this new world. The film is narrated through different times, one in the present and the other ten years ago during their Engineering time, demonstrating how college can change one’s life.

Two States

College romances, where we get our first love to drink all our first experiences. This is one such film, which stars two IIM students who fall in love during their college years. They have graduated from college and are now faced with the reality of romance. They are from two states, as the name implies, and their mission is to bring them together and tie the knot of their marriage. It has all flavors and cultures, from Punjab to Tamil Nadu. You’ll have a good time watching it. This may be useful if you intend to introduce your boyfriend to your family or vice versa.

Fukrey

Fukrey is another action-packed film with a great punch line and comic timing. Bravo to the actors. So the film revolves around the four protagonists struggling with their life issues, and then their paths cross. They all work together with the same goal: to make their dreams come true. The film depicts how a generation is influenced by money to achieve their goals but ultimately finds the right path.

Main Hoon Na

OMG! How could I have forgotten to include this? It’s all about how two brothers who have been separated due to various circumstances come together. It’s fascinating to see how a mission leads Shah Rukh Khan to a college where he has to live a teenager’s life. He indulges himself in being young and vibrant, like a student group, and living their way of life. See how we form bonds and memories in college that last a lifetime. It is one-of-a-kind.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Jaane-Tu-Ya-Jaane-Na

Jaane Tu Ya Janne Na is one of the best college life movies of bollywood based on best friends and their entire journey from college, how they fall in love, separation, to finagling destiny playing its role and things falling into place with some epic and cliche scenes. To summarise, this is one of those stories that has all the feels and is relatable. You’d feel as if your own story had come to life. After watching this, you’ll undoubtedly recall some memories.

Rang De Basanti

Blockbuster films, of which this one is regarded as having one of the best storylines in decades. The film depicts how friends and bonds formed in college last a lifetime, sticking by your side through thick and thin. It’s incredible how this lovely yet eccentric group of friends bonds and forms lifelong friendships. This fantastic coming-of-age college film touched many people’s hearts and had a lot to say to the audience.

While other college films dealt with various issues in college life, this one went above and beyond. We all know how this group of friends from different walks of life come together in the film—a rich brat, a middle-class Muslim boy interested in art, a happy-go-lucky Haryanvi boy, a strictly Hindu student politician, a pretty sweet girl, and an older guy who refuses to leave college because he believes he has no stand beyond the college gates.

And while they are living their carefree lives, taking road trips, eating all the junk food, and so on, they become entangled in something much larger and end up starting a revolution. If you had such amazing friends in college, or if you were a part of something big in your college life, this movie will bring back memories.

Dil Dosti Etc (2007)

This is a film from when the phrase “coming of age” wasn’t thrown around casually to describe a movie about young people finding their way. The film’s story, which starred Imaad Shah and Shreyas Talpade in lead roles, explored the naivety of youth. Dil Dosti Etc show how students from different backgrounds experience college life in different ways, and it was a groundbreaking film at the time.

Chhichhore

The film is about a student who attends college and becomes friends with some seniors by staying in the same Hostel, “H4,” where they become friendly with the seniors and eventually discover that their college also hosts inter-hostel matches in which “H4” has never won a cup. So the hero resolved to win the cup using his game techniques. The film stars “Sushant Singh Rajput” and “Shraddha Kapoor,” and it is available on “Disney+Hotstar.”

Student Of The Year

A lovely love triangle, finding true love during college studies, and winning student of the year. From materialistic relationships to putting friendships to the test during difficult times. This film provides ideal goals for any high school student about to enter college. It covered every aspect of college life, from the atmosphere to the events to the friend circle and quarrels. When it comes to college life, the movie is one of the most talked-about among teenagers.

Wake Up Sid

wake-up-sid

Wake Up Sid is a wonderful story with an unusual ending. Every time I see this film, it leaves me speechless. You will be able to relate to this film regardless of your age because we have all been in a situation where we have finished our studies but have no idea what to do with our lives.

The film revolves around Sid, a useless, arrogant, and lazy boy who is given a reality check, and how he finally does something worthwhile with his life and how he manages to regain the trust of his family and friends, which he carefree attitude had cost him. His friendship with Konkana is also very strong.

This film isn’t about someone who goes out and accomplishes great things. It’s about someone who realizes that instead of wasting his youth doing nothing, he should do something that makes him proud of himself. In my opinion, the best coming-of-age Bollywood film.

Dil Chahta Hai

Another classic film that even the Gen Z generation has seen. This film is about three college students who are closer than ever and enjoying their time in college. They go on a trip to Goa and see how circumstances and situations separate them, how they realize that their friendship is stronger than ever, and how they vow to be friends until death separates them before pursuing their lives.

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, omg, this film keeps us guessing. The film’s main focus has remained on sports and unpleasant family relationships. It demonstrates how siblings, college, a rival gang, exams, and romance blend together to form an epic storyline. It emphasizes the significance of failed romances and finding true love while bringing friends and family members together.

Yuva

Yuva is yet another timeless classic. Even though it is about unusual college life struggles, it is regarded as one of the films with a different story. A first-of-its-kind film that took student politics seriously was inspiring, hard-hitting, and extremely realistic. The twist here is that the students join politics to keep politicians out of it. Yes, you read that correctly. Doesn’t that sound intriguing? They enter politics to fight for change in society. Doesn’t it sound intriguing?

Ishq Vishk

The film concerns college students who care about their friendships, love, and lives. This is a story about how their lives change in college. Perfectly portrays the friendship angle and the love tiff that forms a love triangle between three people. Moments like event preparation, college trip, and canteen fun transport us back to our memories, our good times, and into a pool of nostalgia and nostalgia for our college days.

This film is remembered for many positive reasons, including Shahid Kapoor’s debut. While the love-triangle rom-com drama film starring Shahid, Amrita Rao, Vishal Malhotra, and Satish Shah was entertaining, the fact remains that college life was far from reality.

Yaariyan

This film was a pleasant surprise for us. It looked at one of the most common issues people face when they fall in love with a nerd, and you know when you’re afraid to admit to your friends that the person you’re falling for is a nerd because of peer pressure. The film’s plot was fairly standard, with various events and locations included. It did add a fun element while remaining fairly realistic. And perhaps that’s why it worked so well. I’m sure you’ll enjoy watching this!

Mohabbatein

Gurukul is a university run by the stubborn Narayan Shankar, played by Amitabh Bachchan. Because Narayan wants the best for his students, he emphasizes parampara, nishtha, and anushashan. He forbids romance, however, and anyone caught falling in love will be expelled. Then comes Shahrukh Khan, and everything changes. There is much love in the air, and everyone does everything except study.

The film was a well-received remake of Robin William’s Dead Poet’s Society. However, no other college or school in India comes close to the Gurukul. It’s not even close. Not the first, and not even the second.

Rock On!

Farhan Akhtar’s acting debut is one of Bollywood’s most heartwarming college life movies of bollywood about friendship and life goals. Rock On! is brilliant because it portrays itself as a very normal movie, showing a normal kind of friendship between the leads, something that Dil Chahta Hai was so good at. And then there’s the music. Outstanding.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)

This is my favorite of the 20 films on this list of college life movies in Bollywood. I’ve never been so moved and impacted by a movie. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is a journey of self-discovery, letting go of fears, and living life to the fullest. Deepika as Naina was simply outstanding. Ayan Mukerji creates a character that makes you care about and relate to her. And Ranbir’s character’s travel objectives are unrivaled! YJHD accurately depicts how friendships change as one grows older. A must-see!

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)

I hope you had as much fun as we did making this list for you! When it comes to experiencing the flavors of life, Bollywood has been and will continue to be our constant companion. It never fails to bring back memories and allow us to relive our most treasured moments.
